When I go onto Canons site it suggests running a driver robot program and then when complete wants some payment to continue. I am currently trying to load photos from my Canon Eos20d onto a Windows 7 notebook but it is not allowing me too as it mentions a driver is needed. To really foul things up you need a computer.I would very much appreciate help with the following issue asap as I am currently on holiday and trying to download my birding photos to my partners new notebook which is running Windows 7. Are you sure what you are trying to do is possible? You may be confusing it with what the 5D does, which sounds like it's different to the 20D (&30D)? I have a 30D and as far was I'm aware the only personal info I can add to the EXIF is my name, it doesn't support copyright data. It will install in Win7's Programs (x86) directory (which is where all my Canon software resides). I'm hoping that there is something out there that maybe someone on here will know. I guess you could as I have a mothballed system that I still own that I'm hoping the 20D version of the software is still on. However, once your system battery dies you can't reload your personal info into the camera. Sure the camera will still operate and you will be able to download your pictures. That kind of concerns me knowing that my cameras life cycle to a certain extent is tied to the compatibility of future OS software. It (new EOS utility) does not recognize the 20D and Canon does not support (newer versions of Windows 64bit) older software for previous models. For instance, with the EOS utility that came with the 5D, I can attach the USB cable and the utility allows me to edit and display what the file info for my name, copyright, etc. to each photo as the 20D captures the picture.
